Term : set point

What is 'set point'? What does 'set point' mean?

Definition

The control amount that serves as the target for feedback control. The abbreviation is SP. If the set point is input with key operations or communications, it's called the local SP. If the set point is input with an external analog signal, it's called the remote SP.
