What is 'common mode voltage'? What does 'common mode voltage' mean?

Definition

Noise voltage that is caused by external induction and appears at the two input terminals. It has the same amplitude and phase at both input terminals. The common mode voltage is the algebraic average of the instantaneous values of the two voltages.
