What is 'strain gauge'? What does 'strain gauge' mean?
A element made from metal or a type of semiconductor. The electric resistance of the strain gauge changes when the gauge is elastically deformed under a load. If a constant voltage is applied, the size of the current flowing can be used to measure changes in characteristics. A strain gauge is used for detecting elastic changes within a load cell.
