What is 'thyristor unit'? What does 'thyristor unit' mean?

Definition

A switching element used to control power. There are SCR (product name: Three-pole Conductive Thyristor) and triacs (product name: Three-pole Bidirectional Thyristor). Thyristor units differ from transistors in that they can operate with AC power. In the control industry, "thyristor unit" is sometimes used to indicate the entire power controller.
