An indication of the protocol to use for a peripheral port, RS-232C port, RS-422A/485 port, or USB port, including Host Link, Toolbus, NT Link, Protocol Macro, No-protocol communications, and 1:1 Link. The serial communications mode is selected in the PLC Setup or using a DIP switch.
