What is 'auto/manual switching '? What does 'auto/manual switching ' mean?

Definition

Automatic operation is used to output the results of internal processing as the manipulated variable. Manual operation is used to output the manipulated variable that is manually input from front-panel keys. Auto/manual switching is used to switch between these.
