Definition
The electrical resistance of metals increases with the temperature. This property is particularly pronounced in platinum (Pt). A platinum resistance thermometer contains thin platinum wires surrounded by mica or ceramic material. It uses the property of platinum in which the specific resistance increases with temperature.
