moving average

Definition

The appropriate product category
An average of a specified number of samples of the process value taken as the process value changes.
The appropriate product category
An average that displays the average for the last n samples every time a sample is taken, maintaining a relationship to the past data. A moving average is effective for eliminating periodic noise imposed on the input signal. The number of samples to average can be set by the user. For the K3HB-X/V/S/H/R, settings of 2, 4, 8, 16, …, 512, and 1,024 are available.

This function is supported only by Analog I/O Slaves. An Analog Input Unit can calculate the moving average of the last eight inputs and use it as the converted data. Smooth input values can be obtained by averaging the inputs if there are rapid fluctuations in the input. Settings for averaging are made by using the CX-Integrator.
