- Emergency Stop Switches are switches with contacts with a direct opening mechanism. They are installed to provide a means to stop equipment in an emergency. The operation unit is red and mushroom shaped. The color behind or around the operation unit is yellow. Emergency Stop Switches have a mechanism to mechanically hold them in the stop position until they are manually reset.
